VISION STATEMENT

Ramona High School will prepare its students to be responsible, healthy, ethical and productive citizens in a diverse global community.We will achieve this in an atmosphere of high expectations through standards-based instruction, which include challenging academic work and career orientation enhanced by technology.This will occur in an innovative, safe, and nurturing environment, which promotes collaboration between staff, students, parents and business community.

LANGUAGE ARTS STANDARDS-BASED SKILLS

- students read and understand grade-level appropriate material across the curriculum

-students analyze patterns of organization, arguments, and themes in content-area texts

-students write with coherence and focus across the curriculum using a variety of formats

-students deliver focused and coherent presentations across the curriculum

MATHEMATICS STANDARDS-BASED SKILLS

-students master basic computational and procedural skills across the curriculum

-students develop an appreciation for and an understanding of mathematical concepts and the abilities to use mathematical reasoning to solve problems across the curriculum

-students communicate precisely about quantities, logical relationships and values through the use of signs, symbols, models, graphs, and mathematical terms

-students develop logical thinking in order to analyze evidence and support hypotheses in a variety of settings

-students access information efficiently and effectively by recognizing a need for research, formulating questions, identifying a variety of sources, and developing strategies for locating information
